تشهد الجارة السنغال منذ أسابيع جدلا واسعا بشأن قضية ديون الدولة وعجز الميزانية، فالنظام الحاكم منذ أقل من سنة يتهم الرئيس السابق الذي أدار شؤون البلاد على مدى 12 عاما، بإغراق البلاد في الديون، وبالفساد، والمتهم ينفي كل ذلك، ويقول إن الأمر لا يعدو مناورة سياسية.
قال المتحدث باسم الحكومة السنغالية مصطفى صار، إن السلطات بصدد استدعاء الرئيس السابق ماكي صال للمحاكمة، بعد أن كشف تقرير لمحكمة الحسابات عن "مخالفات" في إدارة المالية العامة للبلاد في فترة حكمه.
