في ثاني سفر له خارج البلاد منذ الإفراج عنه، وصل زعيم حركة إيرا بيرام ولد اعبيدي، وزوجته، ونائبه إلى أمريكا، في زيارة لم يعلن عن أهدافها، وحرص بيرام، ومرافقوه على التقاط صور من ساحة البيض الأبيض في واشنطن، بعد أشهر عديدة من غياهيب السجن المدني بانواكشوط.
