الصحة العالمية: 90% من سكان العالم لديهم مناعة ضد كورونا

أكد المدير العام لمنظمة الصحة العالمية تيدروس أدهانوم غيبريسوس، أن 90 بالمئة على الأقل من سكان العالم لديهم شكل من أشكال المناعة ضد "كوفيد"، محذرا من التراخي في الإجراءات الوقائية.

وأشار تيدروس خلال مؤتمر صحفي يوم الجمعة، إلى أن الانخفاض في اليقظة يترك الباب مفتوحا لظهور متحور جديد من المحتمل أن ينتشر ويحل محل متحور "أوميكرون" السائد حاليا.

وأضاف أن "منظمة الصحة العالمية تقدر أن 90 بالمئة على الأقل من سكان العالم لديهم حاليا نوع من المناعة ضد فيروس "سارس-كوف-2"، إما بسبب الإصابة أو بفضل التطعيم".

وحذر المدير العام لمنظمة الصحة العالمية من إغراء التأكيد قبل الأوان على انتهاء المرحلة الناشئة للوباء، وقال: "لم نحقق ذلك بعد".

وتابع أن "الثغرات في المراقبة والاختبار والتحليل والتلقيح تستمر في توفير الظروف المثالية لظهور متحور جديد مثير للقلق يمكن أن يتسبب في وفيات كثيرة".

ووفق تيدروس، ينتشر حاليا أكثر من 500 متحور فرعي من فيروس "أوميكرون" شديد العدوى.

وأبلغت الدول منظمة الصحة العالمية عن إجمالي 6.6 ملايين وفاة جراء الفيروس، في وقت سجلت نحو 640 مليون إصابة مؤكدة، لكن الحصيلة الحقيقية أكبر بكثير بحسب منظمة الصحة العالمية.
