الإعلان عن تعاون موريتاني أمريكي في مجال الطاقة

أعلنت الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية عن تعاون جديد في مجال الطاقة بينها مع موريتانيا عبر برنامج قطاع الطاقة التابع لمكتب موارد الطاقة.

وقال بيان صادر عن سفارة الولايات المتحدة الآمريكية في نواكشوط، إن هذا التعاون بين البلدين يأتي “للدفع بتنمية الطاقة المتجددة في موريتانيا، ودعماً للحوار والمشاركة المستمرة”.

وأضافت السفارة أن حكومتا الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية وموريتانيا عقدتا حوارًا حول الطاقة يوم 5 ديسمبر 2022 أطلقته السفيرة كييرشت بمشاركة الوكالات المتخصصة في المجال من كلا البلدين.

وأشارت إلى أن موريتانيا والولايات المتحدة، تربطهما مصلحة مشتركة في زيادة الوصول إلى الطاقة، وتحسين قدرات التصنيع، ومعالجة الأسباب الجذرية لتغير المناخ.

وناقش المشاركون الخطط الاستراتيجية لموريتانيا للتحول في هذا المجال والمسارات لزيادة قدرة وإنتاج الطاقة المتجددة، وشاركت الولايات المتحدة المعلومات حول الأدوات المتاحة لدعم أهداف إزالة الكربون وأمن الطاقة في موريتانيا.

وقد أعرب الأمريكيون والموريتانيون عن تصميمهم على المشاركة حسب الحاجة في محادثات مركزة حول المجالات المذكورة أعلاه في الأشهر المقبلة.

ويعد هذا أول حوار رفيع المستوى حول الطاقة بين الولايات المتحدة وموريتانيا، وترأسته نائبة مساعد وزير الخارجية لدبلوماسية الطاقة، لورا لوخمان، من مكتب موارد الطاقة بوزارة الخارجية، ووزير البترول والمعادن والطاقة عبد السلام ولد محمد صالح.
