الإعلان عن اتفاق لتعزيز العلاقات التجارية بين الولايات المتحدة وإفريقيا

أعلن الرئيس الأمريكي جو بايدن،أمس الأربعاء، عن اتفاق يهدف إلى تعزيز العلاقات التجارية بين الولايات المتحدة وإفريقيا بعد سنوات لم تكن فيها القارة بين أولويات الولايات المتحدة، في وقت تزايد فيه النفوذ الصيني في إفريقيا إلى حد بعيد.

 

وقال بايدن للقادة الأفارقة "إن الولايات المتحدة كلها ملتزمة بمستقبل القارة قلبا وقالبا."

 

وتهدف القمة الإفريقية الأمريكية التي حضرها 49 دولة، إلى جانب الاتحاد الإفريقي، والتي استمرت ثلاثة أيام في واشنطن، إلى تقديم أمريكا كشريك للدول الأفريقية وسط منافسة قوية من الصين التي رسخت علاقتها مع القارة من خلال تمويل عدد كبير من مشاريع البنية التحتية في القارة.

 

وتبلغ التجارة الصينية مع إفريقيا حوالي أربعة أضعاف الولايات المتحدة ، وأصبحت بكين دائنًا مهمًا لإفريقيا من خلال تقديم قروض أرخص وميسرة مقارنة مع المقرضين في الغرب.

 

وقال بايدن إن اتفاقية جديدة مع منطقة التجارة الحرة في القارة الأفريقية ستمنح الشركات الأمريكية الوصول إلى 1.3 مليار شخص وسوق بقيمة 3.4 تريليون دولار.

 

وتحدث بايدن عن الصفقات التي وقعت خلال القمة. وختم تصريحاته قائلا "عندما تنجح إفريقيا، تنجح الولايات المتحدة. وبصراحة تامة ، ينجح العالم كله أيضًا".
