تقنية جديدة لاستخراج الذهب من النفايات الالكترونية

اكتشف الباحثون تقنية جديدة يمكن أن تساعد على تطوير أساليب لاستخراج المعادن الثمينة وإنقاذ حوالي 300 طن من الذهب المستخدم في مجال الالكترونيات سنويا. 
  
ويعتقد الباحثون أن النفايات الكهربائية تحتوي على ما يصل إلى 7 في المائة من مجمل الذهب في العالم، بما في ذلك الهواتف النقالة وأجهزة التلفاز والكمبيوتر. 
  
ولا يعتبر استخراج الذهب من الهواتف النقالة ظاهرة جديدة، حيث كانت الشركات تقوم بذلك منذ سنوات، ولكن تعتبر الأساليب الحالية غير فعالة ويمكن أن تكون خطرة على الصحة بسبب استخدام مواد كيميائية سامة. 
  
وقال البروفيسور جايسون لوف الذي قاد الدراسة: "تُستخدم المواد الكيميائية السامة في عمليات استخراج الذهب مثل السيانيد والزئبق، وغالبا ما تحتوي النفايات المتبقية بعد استرداد الذهب على معادن سامة مثل الرصاص". 
  
لذا طور الباحثون من جامعة أدنبرة طريقة استخراج جديدة لا تستخدم هذه المواد الكيميائية السامة، ويمكن أن يكون لها فوائد اقتصادية واجتماعية محتملة؛ والأسلوب ينطوي على وضع لوحات الدارة الكهربائية في حمض خفيف من أجل حل الأجزاء المعدنية؛ وبعد ذلك تتم إضافة سائل زيتي يحتوي على مركب كيميائي لاستخراج الذهب منها. ويأمل الباحثون أن تعمل هذه الطريقة على تحسين طرق استرداد الذهب من النفايات الالكترونية.
