علماء أفارقة يبحثون مكافحة جدري القرود

عقد باحثون من عدة دول أفريقية، ندوة في معهد “باستور”، بالعاصمة السنغالية داكار، لمناقشة سبل مكافحة جدري القرود.

وكشف المعهد عن تنظيم سلسلة من الندوات مع علماء فيروسات من خمسة عشر دولة عضو في المجموعة الاقتصادية لدول غرب أفريقيا، إلى جانب علماء من رواندا وموريتانيا.

وقال عبد الرحمن صو، عضو اللجنة العلمية بالمعهد، إن الخبراء ناقشوا موضوع توفير اللقاح المضاد للوباء، إلا أن هناك العديد من المتحورات المنتشرة، تفرض استمرار تطوير اللقاح.

وأكد صو، أن المعهد سيكون قادرا على توفير اللقاحات للدول الأكثر عرضة للخطر، للسيطرة على انتشار الوباء.
