منظمة استثمار نهر السنغال تحذر من وقوع فيضانات محتملة جراء ارتفاع منسوب مياه النهر

حذرت منظمة استثمار نهر السنغال، أمس الأحد، من حدوث فيضانات محتملة، بعد ارتفاع منسوب مياه النهر جراء الأمطار الأخيرة، مؤكدة أن المستوى الحالي للمياه يماثل ما حدث في العام 1999.

جاء ذلك في بيان صادر عن المنظمة أعلنت فيه أن معدلات التدفق المسجلة في الأيام الأخيرة مماثلة لتلك التي لوحظت خلال فيضان استثنائي عام 1999، مشددة على أنها رفعت حالة التأهب القصوى، حيث تم تفعيل اليقظة البرتقالية في جميع المدن المطلة على النهر، وفقا "لتعليمات خطة الإنذار" الموصى بها في مثل هذه الظروف، وذلك للتعامل السريع مع أي طارئ.

وأوضحت المنظمة أنها اتخذت جملة من التدابير الاحترازية، كما رسمت خطة تنبيه تدمج أحدث بيانات المياه والتأثيرات المحتملة لتغير المناخ، مبينة أن الخطة، تغطي كامل حوض نهر السنغال وتشمل خرائط لمناطق الفيضانات ولحالات الفيضانات المختلفة.
