بتروناس تفشل في الحصول على مشتر لحقل شنقيط

تسعى شركة بتروناس الماليزية إلى الانسحاب من حقل شنقيط للنفط (الحقل البحري الواقع على بعد 65 كيلومترا من نواكشوط) لكن يبدو أنه لا يزال عليها أن تنتظر لمزيد من الوقت. هذه المغادرة التي كانت موضوع إخطار للسلطات الموريتانية منذ سنتين كانت بدافع عدم وجود ربحية للحقل النفطي الذي يتراجع إنتاجه بشكل دائم، والإنتاج اليومي بالكاد يصل إلى 6000 برميل، وهو إنتاج تافه بالنسبة للعملاق الآسيوي. وكانت بتروناس قد دخلت موريتانيا في عام 2007، بعد الاستحواذ على أسهم شركة وودسايد مقابل 418 مليون دولار،  ولم تنجح العديد من جولات المفاوضات مع المشترين المحتملين حتى الآن.
