اجتماع في البنين حول الرعي والاستقرار بالساحل

أعلن في العاصمة البنينية عن نشر دراسة هي الأولى من نوعها في إفريقيا حول تربية الماشية في وذلك على هامش عقد في المدينة.

الاجتماع يأتي في إطار مشروع الرعي والاستقرار في منطقة الساحل واستمرّ لمدة يومين لمناقشة منع نشوب الصراعات. وقد ناقش فريق من معهد علوم المعلومات في بوردو مئات المقالات الصحفية، التي نشرت في 5 بلدان، من بينها مالي وموريتانيا والنيجر، بين عامي 2000 و2017، وخرجوا بخلاصة أن هناك الكثير من الأحكام المسبقة ضد الرعاة الرحل.

كما ناقش المجتمعون موضوعات مثل القيمة الاقتصادية والاجتماعية للثروة الحيوانية والنزاعات والتنقل الذي يغذي النزاعات حيث ينظر المقيمون إلى الوافداين على أنه يغزون أراضيهم. ويضاف إلى ذلك زيادة الجفاف في السنوات الأخيرة التي دفعت البدو الرحل إلى التحرك في البلدان الساحلية. وتضغط هذه البلدان، من خلال وسائطها الإعلامية، على جيرانها في منطقة الساحل من أجل فرض نمط عيش معيّن على البدو الرحل.

ومع ذلك، تظهر الدراسة أيضا أن هناك وعيا حقيقيا من السكان المستقرين بالقيمة الاقتصادية للنشاط الرعوي، حيث تغذي الثروة الحيوانية منطقة الساحل، ويعرف السكان المحليون ذلك جيدا.
